Common Cold, Head Cold
Print this pagePrint this page    Email this pageEmail this page
Symptoms of a head cold may include a runny nose, sneezing, coughing, nasal drainage and general fatigue. There's still no cure for the common cold, but how you treat yourself while you're sick may decrease the severity and length of the cold.
Drink Up
Hydrating your body with fluids like water, fruit juice and clear soup helps loosen congestion, and that helps you feel better faster. Plus, if you have a fever, liquids can help replenish any water you've lost to dehydration.
An Ounce of Prevention
Taking measures to lessen your exposure to germs is easier than it may seem. Wipe down your desk at work, wash your hands and keep them away from your nose and mouth. Avoid contact with people infected with a cold. And cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough, as you may very well be infecting your own space.
